Fruit is one of nature’s best choices for those looking to improve their health in terms of intake of vitamins and minerals and providing a well balanced diet. Fruit comes in all shapes, colors, textures, and smells and tastes delicious. So why should you avoid fruit or worse think it’s bad for you? Well fruit is not entirely bad but may not the best choice especially as a late night snack.
Most of our sweet tooth cravings are at night. So your thinking why not reach for a bowl of strawberries or peaches to satisfy our craving, right? Not so, consuming fruit at night is something you should avoid because it will convert into body fat while you enjoy your favorite TV show or even worse if you go to sleep soon after.
The fact is that fruit contains a lot of sugar per serving and we all know how difficult it can be to limit ourselves to one piece of anything. So unless you’re planning to head out to your local disco and dance the night away… the best time of day to consume fruit is in the morning or early afternoon. This will allow your body to utilize those sugars more efficiently and be burned off throughout the day!
So keep in mind if you crave a piece of fruit, go ahead but consider what time of day is best for snacking. One of the well-known rules of weight loss asserts that when you eat is as important as what you eat.
